Homemade Bread Rolls

  • Dough:
  • 0.5 ounce fresh yeast
  • 2 tablespoons wheat flour
  • 50 ml milk
  • 2 tablespoons white sugar
  • Cake:
  • 0.6 pound wheat flour
  • 0.2 pound whole-meal flour
  • 0.3 poungd rye flour
  • 150 ml water
  • 100 ml milk
  • 3 ounce butter, melted
  • 2 chicken egg yolks
  • a pinch of salt
  • 1 egg (for spreading)


  • Crumble the yeast in a small bowl and mix it with sugar, flour and slightly warm milk. Mix everything thoroughly and let stand for about 10 minutes to grow.
  • Pour flour, previously sieved through a sieve, into a large bowl. Add the remaining milk, lukewarm water, yolks and melted butter. Mix with the dough and knead. Cover the dough with a kitchen cloth and leave it to rise for about an hour.
  • After an hour, check the dough and then divide it into 10-12 parts, making the bread rolls. Line the baking sheet with a parchment paper, then lightly sprinkle it with flour and put the rolls on it. Cut the tops of the rolls lightly and smear them with a beaten egg.
  • Place the buns in the oven preheated to 180 degrees and bake for about 25 minutes until browned. Our homemade bread rolls are ready.
