Every time I make salad or soup, I like adding croutons to dishes of this type. In my opinion this dishes are waaaaay better with croutons, especially with this ones made at home and still warm. More crunching, more satisfaction, more taste and fun! I added dried basil and garlic powder to this recipe but you can use the spices you want.

Ingredients for croutons:

  • 1/4 cup butter
  • 12 slices bread
  • 1 tablespoon dried basil
  • pinch of salt
  • 1/2 teaspoon garlic powder

Preparation of croutons

  • Warm up an oven to 170 degrees C and remove crusts from stale bread slices.
  • In a small pot melt butter, set aside, add dried basil and garlic powder, salt and stir.
  • Brush bread slices with prepared butter and cut bread slices into small cubes.
  • Spread bread cubes on baing sheet. Bake in the oven for 15 minutes until brown color. Use warm or let cool for a while. Croutons are ready to serve with your favorite salad or other dish!
