Beef slips are one of the delicacies of Polish cuisine. They have the flavor of onion and roast. They go perfectly with bay leaf and allspice. Ready slips are best served with a sauce that appears while stewing – you can thicken it with flour. Serve the beef slips with potatoes, groats or noodles, and vegetable salads.

Ingredients:

  • 1.3 pound beef, boneless
  • 1 tablespoon flour
  • 1 tablespoon lard
  • 1 onion
  • salt
  • pepper
  • allspice
  • bay leaves

Preparation:

  • Meat should be rinsed and cut into four parts. Tenderize the meat parts with a meat mallet, forming slices 1 cm thick. Salt the slices and coat them in flour.
  • Warm up a piece of lard in a frying pan and fry the meat on both sides.
  • Put fried meat to a large pot and pour about half a glass of water, then stew with the lid on.
  • Fry the diced onion in a frying pan until it is caramelized.
  • Add onion, allspice and bay leaves to the pot with meat. Then add an onion and stew for about 40 minutes.
