Yeast cake is one of the most popular and easiest cakes to prepare. Thanks to its simplicity, it’s often served on Polish tables both at Christmas and Easter. It’s perfect for afternoon tea, meeting with friends or morning coffee. It can also replace breakfast because it is very filling.

  • 2.2 pound flour
  • 1 glass sugar
  • 2 ounce yeast
  • 2 cups milk
  • 4 eggs
  • 1 package vanilla sugar
  • ½ cube of margarine
  • 2 tablespoons oil
  • a pinch of salt


  • Yeast should be melted in warm milk and let to rise. Mix eggs with sugar. After rising, add yeast to sugar with eggs, salt and flour. Knead the dough for a few minutes.
  • Add melted margarine to the dough and knead it again. Spread the dough on a baking sheet and let it rise.
  • Bake the kneaded dough for about 60 minutes at 180 degrees. Our cake is ready.
